Antonia Passetti

Antonia (?Genuina?) Passetti ?Heaven?s Door? Antonia ?Genuina? Passetti passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at the age of 89, surrounded by her loving family into the Arms of Jesus and into the waiting embrace of her beloved husband, Guerrino Passetti. She is survived by her adored daughter Ivana (Adis) Sozzi, treasured grandmother of Danilo (Lena) Sozzi, David (Audra) Sozzi and great-grandmother to two of her most precious jewels, Andrew and Gianna Sozzi. She was also the beloved sister of the late Eraldo Benedetti and Emilia Tagnani, and also numerous family and friends, both in Italy and in the Bay Area. Born April 14, 1923, in the town of Frontone, Italy. Antonia married Guerrino in 1945 and began their life together raising their daughter, Ivana. In 1960, the 3 of them moved to the United States and settled in San Francisco, which would become their permanent home. Antonia?s greatest joys were her family and friends, and she could be counted on to always have her delicious Italian food prepared for you when you walked through her door. Her kitchen was always alive with wonderful and tempting scents. She spent countless relaxing afternoons playing Briscola with her friends and family, namely, her sister-in-law Luisa Passetti, Delfina Pierantoni and the late Gioconda Fatica. One of Antonia?s and Guerrino?s love was to always be part of the regular dinner/dances at The Marche Club. They could always be counted on to attend the Annual Marche Club Family Picnic at Blackberry Farm, with the two of them being the first ones in line to secure their favorite table in the park. She would lose her beloved husband on July 11, 2004, and never quite recovering from his departure, she fell into failing health, which was besieged by various strokes and dementia over the years. Her daughter Ivana became her mother?s selfless, tireless, and primary care-giver, until her last breath. Although Antonia?s departure from us has left a tremendous, never-to-be-filled void, we take comfort in knowing she is no longer suffering and is now dancing in Heaven with her husband ?Checco,? who is rejoicing in her long awaited reunion. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Sutter Hospice, especially for the loving care provided by Lanny Kartika and Israel Cañada.
