Eleanor Jean Mirabella Jan. 15, 1923 ? June 7, 2010 Resident of San Francisco Eleanor (Waters) Mirabella, native of San Francisco, daughter of Margaret Machado (of Hawaii) and Hartley Hamilton Waters, sister to Virginia A. Waters (deceased), the loving wife to Matthew J. Mirabella Sr. for 68 years, the beloved mother of Elena F. Franzoia, Matthew J. Mirabella Jr. and Michael J. Mirabella, grandmother to 7 and great grandmother to 5. Eleanor loved the Hawaiian Islands; especially it?s lovely music and flowers. She was the niece of ?The Songbird of the Islands?, Lena Machado. Eleanor was born and raised in S.F.?s Sunset District, a member of St. Ann?s Parish and attended Commerce High School. She was a dedicated member of the Sunset Lionettes Club, a supporter of the Randolph Jr. Museum and proudly achieved her life?s goal of loving wife, proud mother and homemaker. She loved her summer home at the Russian River, annual family vacations to Camp Mather and skiing with her family and friends at Donner Summit with fond memories at Beacon Hill and Kiski Lodges. Most recently, Eleanor was an enthusiastic member of the Silver Bells hand bell choir at her residence, Home Sweet Home, Colma. Her family is comforted knowing that she is reunited with her late husband, Matthew, her sister Virginia and granddaughter Carla. Eleanor shared, a deep love for her garden and growing things with her husband Matt. Her family and friends will remember Eleanor as a true believer in the values of love, respect, honor, and fidelity to family and friends.
