Mrs. Eliseria Moreno Santos

Eliseria Moreno Santos died on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 in her home of non-Hodgkin lymphoma. She was surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She was 81 years old. She was born on August 26, 1934 in Jabson Estate, Sumilang, Pasig Rizal, Philippines. Her parents were Telesforo Moreno and Juana Moreno. Eliseria is survived by her children, Joselito Moreno Santos, Evelyn Santos Marcant, and Evangeline Moreno Santos-Ong; grandchildren, Anthony Francois Marcant, Emmanuel Christophe Marcant, Matthew Julien Marcant, Kyle Alexander Ong, and Kevin Christopher Ong; and sisters Maria Fernandez, Leticia Nacorra, and Rose Andres. Eliseria attended Rizal High School in Pasig, Philippines. She married Agapito Gamboa Santos at Immaculate Conception Church on September 26, 1955. On May 24, 1967, Eliseria and her family left the Philippines and moved to San Francisco. She worked at the Holiday Inn Hotel and at Chance Bridals Veils before retiring in 1997. She was loyal, honest, caring, and supportive. She never imposed herself onto people. She didn't like to ask for help or make anyone worry about her. She was a dutiful and kind wife who loved and cared for her husband for 60 years. She supported her children, always finding ways to help and encourage them to do their best. She loved her sisters, grandchildren, nephews, and nieces, and was a ready hand or advisor whenever help was needed. Eliseria loved to cook, travel, and garden. She was a marvelous cook, specializing in Filipino, Italian, and Chinese dishes. Her interest in learning new recipes continued even as she got older. Eliseria enjoyed traveling, from road trips, airplane flights, cruise ships, or even camping trips, she was ready to participate. She had a green thumb and spent a lot of time in her lovely garden. A romantic and avid learner, Eliseria was a TFC fan. She loved Filipino soap operas! She kept abreast of the local and world news and was fond of health studies and holistic medicine. The funeral services will be held at Valente, Marini, Perata & Company on 4840 Mission Street, San Francisco, California: Wednesday, August 3 (visitation 4-9pm); Thursday, 8/4 (visitation 9am-9pm with Rosary Prayer Service at 7pm); and Friday 8/5 (final visitation for family only 8:30-9:30am). Following the family viewing is the funeral service at Corpus Christie Church on 62 Santa Rosa Avenue, San Francisco, California. The burial will be held at the Italian Cemetery in Colma, California.
