Eva Amarillas

Eva passed away on Saturday May 8, 2010 with her family at her bedside after a short illness at the age of 84. She was born in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico to Salvador and Maria Natividad Velez and was a 58 year resident of San Francisco. She was a wonderful mother, wife, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to all. She will be missed by her sons Alfonso (daughter-in-law Gladys) and Robert (Marlene), grandchildren Rebecca (Marcos), Deanna (Paul), Desiree (Sean), Brandy (Nate), Kimberly, Cherie (Keith), Nicole, Bobbi, great-grandchildren Spencer, Marcos Jr., Olivia, Lillyana, Logan, Isabella, Maddie, sister Maria, nieces and nephews Andrew (Nancy), Yolanda (Jose), Faustino Jr., Armando, Andy, Christina, Bianca, Marissa, and many extended family members in the U.S. and Mexico. Eva grew up in Mexico, met her husband Jesus Y. Amarillas (preceded) and migrated to San Francisco in 1952, and lived in the Excelsior District in her wonderful home on Russia Street. She loved her garden, music, traveling, visiting the casinos, dining out, and enjoyed cooking for everyone who visited her home. Her family meant the world to her and she devoted her life to them. She was a devoted Catholic and attended Epiphany Church in San Francisco. Family and friends may visit after 3:00PM on Tuesday and after 8:30AM on Wednesday and are invited to attend the vigil service also on Wednesday at 7:00PM and the funeral on Thursday at 10:30AM from the chapels of Valente Marini Perata & Co., 4840 Mission St., SF, thence to Church of the Epiphany, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00AM.
