Gerald (Jerry) Saner died of lung cancer on Friday, December 11, 2009.He was 60 years old.He has one son, Michael, three daughters, Toni, Rhea, and Rhena, threegrandchildren, Max, Dhe?Ann and Josiah, and three nephews, Aaron,Greg, and Chris who were all at his side during this time. His wife,Maria, his mother, Lettie, and his sister, Marilyn were there too. Hisfriends, too numerous to mention, came to see him frequently and tookhim to his favorite place; usually a gambling casino!Jerry loved bowling, fishing, gambling, and hanging out at The Dr.?s but mostly Jerry loved spending timewith his friends and family.There will be a memorial honoring Jerry?s life Thursday, December 17, 2009 beginning at 5p.m. at ValenteMarini Perata located at 4840 Mission Street @ Onondaga. The priest will conduct the service at 6p.m.then you are invited to join us next door at the Dr.?s to enjoy appetizers and share the many memories ofJerry?s life. When he was scheduled to receive eitherchemotherapy or his transfusions, he looked forward to spending time with the other people also receivingchemotherapy or transfusions.One time, in the same room, there were three women receiving chemo treatment for breast cancer andJerry. He especially enjoyed spending time with them and was able to offer them his support and hope fora future. The four of them left with a smile on their faces.Ward 5A is where Jerry transitioned from this life to the next. They need new sheets and pillows!!
