Born in Panamá, Rep. of Panamá, Germán passed away in Mountain View, CA on March 17, 2010 at the age of 67. He is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years Marquela C. Martínez, daughter Amelia M. Martínez C., son Germán G. Martínez Jr & his wife Roxana Martínez, granddaughter Chloe G. Martínez., his brother Roberto A. Martínez, sister in law Katie K. Martínez, aunt María de la Cruz Wilkins, nephews Ricardo A. Martínez, Marcos G. Martínez, niece Alicia A. Koroknai (Martínez), and many other family and friends. Papitín was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend. He always smiled and was a strong person. He was very supportive of everyone and cared dearly about all of his friends and family. He enjoyed his life and lived everyday giving thanks to God, his mother who was his guardian angel, and his cousin Daniel Wilkins who gave him the opportunity to be among us for many years after a transplant. He was a huge Giants fan, salsa music lover, and always had a story to share with you that was sure to bring a smile to your face. He battled for many years with illness and the Lord has taken him into his arms to free him from any suffering. He will forever be remembered and loved by his family and many friends. Papá, you will always be with us and will never be forgotten for the love you gave us will bring us the strength to continue on. You are now our guardian angel and we love you very much. Koroknai (Martínez), y otros miembros de la familia y amigos. Papitín fue un gran esposo, padre, abuelo y amigo. Siempre sonreia y era una persona muy fuerte. El apoyaba a todos y estimaba mucho a sus amigosy familia. Él disfrutó de su vida y vivió todos los dias dando gracias a Dios, su madre, quien era su ángel guardián y su primo Daniel Wilkins que le dió la oportunidad de estar con nosotros durante muchos años después de un trasplante. Fue un gran fanático de los Gigantes, amante de la música salsa y siempre tenía un anecdota que contar que seguramente le haría sonreir. Él luchó durante muchos años y el Señor le ha acogido en su regazo y liberado de sufrimiento.
