Jennie MascarelloRemembered by her loved ones and family as ?Tudy,? went home to God on February 14, 2008, after living a full life that spanned almost 9 decades. At 88, growing health issues and age both claimed Tudy?s final days. Tudy was surrounded by her loved ones and comforted in her final hours.Tudy was born in San Francisco on June 28, 1919 to Vincent and Ella (Murzi) Mascarello and was the youngest of three daughters. Her oldest sister, Elba, married Joe Toboni and died in 1950. Tudy lived with her older sister, Antoinette, also known as ?Dodo?, until her passing. Both Tudy and Dodo lived with their mother and father until their deaths in 1964 and 1975, respectively.Tudy graduated from Balboa High School in 1937 and soon after went to work at the Emporium where she stayed for almost 42 years.Tudy is survived by her loving sister, Antoinette (Dodo); her niece and nephew-in-law LaVerne (Toboni) and Ed Willers; nephew and niece-in-law Lawrence and Georgina Toboni; grand nephews and nieces Edward Willers, Jr., Kenneth Willers and Deborah (Willers) Blanchard; Vera (Guintoli), Lawrence Jr., and Johnny Toboni; and great grand nieces and nephew Jenny Willers, Benny Willers, Michelle Blanchard and Marina Marie Guintoli.Tudy will be remembered by all her nieces and nephews as ?our aunt who loved the Giants, the 49ers and Martin?s Beach.? Over the span of 8 decades, Tudy and her sister, Dodo, welcomed all of us down to ?the beach? where we sat on their deck during the summer listening to Giants baseball over the radio. Our memory of Aunt Tudy is one that brings a smile to our face because her dry sense of humor always made us laugh.Over the last several years, during Tudy?s declining health, Deborah (Willers) Blanchard, took an active role in caring for her beloved great aunt Tudy.Continued Next PageFamily and friends may visit after 5:00PM Thursday and are invited to attend the Vigil Service, also on Thursday, at 7:00PM at the chapels of Valente Marini Perata & Co., 4840 Mission St., SF. The Committal Service will be held on Friday at 10:30AM at Holy Cross Cemetery in Colma.In lieu of flowers, donations in Tudy?s memory may be made to St. John School, 925 Chenery Street, SF, CA 94131. A fund is set up in her name and will benefit the school where her nephew, Kenneth Willers, is principal and her great great niece, Michelle Blanchard, is currently in the 5th grade.
