Mrs. Jenny Sant

Jenny entered into rest surrounded by her family, on Sunday evening July 5th. Born in Venice, Italy, she came to the United States with her parents and brother at the age of 3. The family settled in Burlingame and she graduated from Burlingame High School class of 1949. She worked as a Nurse in the now defunct St. Joseph Hospital in San Francisco. Later in life Jenny worked as a Marker at Macy's on Paul Avenue in San Francisco. She is survived by her devoted husband of 60 years, John M. Sant; her loving children Jeanette Santos, Julie Abusharkh, & John L. Sant; adored Grandmother to Juan, Khalil, Jacob (Grace), Rebecca, Courtney, Jeannine, & Kristen; cherished sister-in-law to Grace Fernandez, Frances Cairns, & Patricia Benedetti; beloved Aunt of Chuck (Ann) Camilleri, Richard Cairns, Patrick Cairns, Diane (Ed Ewell), & Joseph (Linda) Benedetti; also survived by numerous other Great-Nieces, Great-Nephews, Cousins, & Friends. Predeceased by her son, Joseph; her parents Giuseppe & Pierina Benedetti; and her brother, John (Carol) Benedetti. A devout Catholic with a great devotion to the Blessed Mother, Jenny was a longtime member of Italian Catholic Federation Branch 258. She loved children and served as a Yard Mother for many years at St. Paul of the Shipwreck. Jenny loved to garden and loved animals, especially her pet birds, cats, and dogs. A longtime member of the San Francisco Horsemen’s Association, she served as a Grounds Crew member for numerous horse shows. Her greatest passion was raising her children and grandchildren, they brought her the greatest joy. She will be missed, but remain in our hearts forever. The family wishes to thank Dr. Tracy Jenelis and the staff at RAI San Francisco Dialysis Center for all their loving care. Their kind and nurturing support will never be forgotten. Family and friends are invited to visit after 5:00PM and to the Vigil Service at 7:00PM, both on Wednesday, July 8th, at Valente Marini Perata & Company, 4840 Mission St, San Francisco. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, July 9th, at 10:00AM at St. Elizabeth Church, 449 Somerset St., San Francisco. Committal will immediately follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Colma. Donations may be made to St. Elizabeth Church, 449 Holyoke St., San Francisco, CA 94134.
