Juan Camposeco

Juan Carlos passed away peacefully in San Francisco Aug. 8 surrounded by his beloved wife and four loving daughters at the age of 71. Juan Carlos was born in Mexico City the first of eight children to Carlos and Amelia Camposeco. When he was 18, he came to the United States chasing the American dream. While living in Chicago in 1960, he was drafted into the Army where he became a medical specialist and was honorably discharged two years later. After marrying Victoria Perez and having two daughters, Carlos settled in San Francisco where he worked for more than 25 years as a construction worker and foreman on dozens major building sites. His most notable projects include Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART), Pier 39, 555 Market Street and the Marriot Hotel in downtown San Francisco . His sense of humor and wit will be deeply missed by his wife of 43 years and their four daughters; Maria Camposeco, Elizabeth Marchasin, Ana Camposeco and Martha Philpott. Juan Carlos is also survived by eight grandchildren; Johnny and Victoria Reimonenq, Celida and Samantha Moran; Andrew and Melissa Marchasin, and Michael Carlos and Terence Philpott, as well as his four sons-in-law; Douglas Moran, Richard Marchasin, John Reimonenq and Michael Philpott. He will also be deeply missed by family friend Mother R. A Vigil will be held Tuesday Aug. 12 from 4 to 9 p.m. at Valente Marini Perata Funeral Home, 4840 Mission Street, San Francisco . Services begin at 6 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday Aug. 13 at noon at St. Finn Barr Church in San Francisco followed by burial at Olivet Memorial Park in Colma.
