Grace Angelina MastrangeloApril 16, 1929 ? September 20, 2008Grace passed away peacefully in her sleep while surrounded by her loving family. She survived breast cancer for the last 6 years. Now, sadly, after a heroic battle over the course of the last year, her body lost its fight to cancer of the pancreas and liver.Grace was born Grace Angelina Pisciotto in Oakland, CA. on April 16, 1929. She was the last of her immediate family to pass away. She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Gregorio Mastrangelo, her late husband, Lee Patterson, and late, dear companion, Ed Emig,Grace is survived by her loving and devoted son and daughter-in-law, Gregory and Linda Mastrangelo and their 5 children, Michael, Nicholas, Christina, Thomas, Gina and her husband, Greg Spaniolo. Grace is survived by her loving and devoted daughter and son-in-law Susan and Jose Aguirre and children David Perotti, his wife, Brenda, and their daughter, Kayla; Robert Perotti and his daughter, Alabama. Grace will also be missed by many very loving nieces and nephews, other extended family members, and dear friends.Grace loved her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and was looking forward to the coming birth of her 3rd great granddaughter, Elena Spaniolo. Grace loved cats and was affectionately known to her grandchildren as Bampi Cat. She was a devoted mother, wife, and care giver. She loved to make simple clothing and mend what she already had. She was an excellent cook and would take pleasure in preparing her special Sunday dinners for her family. As a stay-at-home mom, she provided her children with a loving and nurturing environment. She was always available when her children needed her.Grace is at peace and her soul is with our Lord and God. We know that she is surrounded with the souls of her previously departed loved ones and family that she so often took pleasure in remembering the life and love they had all shared. These happy memories also included her many favorite pets.As our mother?s children, we want to thank all of our dear family members and close friends who supported our mom with prayers, phone calls, visits to the hospital and home, flowers, cards, food, and homemade cookies for her to enjoy. Your support will be treasured always.To my wife, Linda ? thank you for your love, support, and guidance that you gave me, and the love and attention that you gave to my mother.To my sister, Susan, thank you for the loving care that you provided our mom throughout her illness and especially for giving her your time and a place in your home for the care of our mother these last few months.
