Mrs. Josephine Pantaleoni

Just short of her 90th birthday, Josephine passed away on February 23, 2017 at her home in South San Francisco, CA.She was the devoted wife to the late Achille Pantaleoni, loving mother to Tony Pantaleoni (Meridith) and Theresa Gotshalk (Tim) and adored Nonnie to Anthony Pantaleoni and Jacob Gotshalk. Josephine was the daughter of Guiseppe Raffo and Louisa Moscone who were both immigrants from Italy. She was the youngest of 10 children. Sister to the late Theresa Surian, Angelo Raffo, Irene Quattrin, Madeline Venturi, Albert Raffo, Victoria Pritchard, Anthony Raffo, John Raffo, and Mary Troglio. Loving aunt to Bob Quattrin, Guido Surian, Albert Raffo, Tom Pritchard, Carl Troglio and Marina Kannisto and many nieces and nephews in New Orleans and Italy. Josephine grew up in the Mission District of San Francisco, and graduated from Mission High School. She was a devout Catholic and went to mass every Thursday at Saint Patrick's Church in San Francisco with her sisters. In the early 1980’s – 1990’s, she worked alongside her son in his San Francisco architecture firm. Josephine enjoyed her morning coffee with a delicious piece of danish. She looked forward to going to the movies with her family and friends, going out for dinner and reading the Sunday paper. She took many trips to Italy with her husband to visit family and enjoy the sights. She was an excellent cook and a stylish dresser, but more importantly she was a kind and loving individual who always put others before herself. She will be missed by all who knew her. The family would like to sincerely thank her caregivers, Claire Bundalian, Anne Aquino and Annaliza Nardo, Gentiva Hospice Care, and her cardiologist, Dr. Remo Morelli. Friends may visit after 4pm on Thursday, March 9, 2017 and attend the vigil service at the Chapels of Valente Marini Perata & Co., 4840 Mission Street - San Francisco. The funeral mass will be held at Saint Veronica's Church in South San Francisco at 434 Alida Way on Friday March 10th at 10 am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Lung Association, EWTN Global Catholic Network, Archbishop Riordan High School or Boys and Girls Towns of Italy.
