María Magdalena De JesúsNov. 30, 1933 ? Nov. 25, 2009?Margie? as she was lovingly called, was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico on November 30, 1933 and moved to San Francisco in 1947 at the age of fourteen with her mother, Doña Nití (Juana Reyes Ortiz) and father, Don Armando Reyes Ortiz with whom she now rests. Margie graduated a year early from Mission High School and shortly thereafter married Peter De Jesús, Sr. They were married for 36 years and even after separation, remained close and central figures in their large family. Margie was a deeply spiritual and caring woman with a strong, independent character who charmed all who met her. She passed along her outgoing personality, and pride in her Puerto Rican heritage to her adoring family. As matriarch, she is survived by her children, Vivian, Richard, David, Renea, Petra, Peter, Margaret and Luis; their spouses Jackie, Lorraine, Steve, Janet, Mike, and Stacy, her 30 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren and her favorite dog Thorn AKA Thor. Margie was cared for and loved deeply by Desi, Peter, Phillipe, Tiffany and Angel and their children.Our mother passed away peacefully on November 25, 2009, shortly before her 76th birthday, surrounded by her loving family. Her wonderful stories and lively presence will be missed dearly. We?d like to thank Dr. Larry Wonderling for his special friendship, loving support and guidance, as well as, all other family members (too many to mention) her many dear friends in California and Arizona especially, Sue and Sheldon Silkey.Friends and family may visit Wednesday, December 2nd after 5:00PM and are invited to the Rosary, also on Wednesday, at 7pm, and the Family Prayer Service on Thursday at 6pm, and the Funeral Service on Friday at 10:30am from the chapels of Valente Marini Perata & Co., 4840 Mission Street, San Francisco, thence to St. Anthony?s Church where an 11am Funeral Mass will be celebrated. Following the Mass, she will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery, in Colma alongside her grandson Martin BonneyIn lieu of flowers, donations in Margie?s name may be made to the charity of your choice.
