Mr. Ricardo Domingo

Ricardo Inocencio Domingo, age 81, passed away at St. Lukes Hospital in San Francisco, California on Sunday, January 10, 2016 following a brief illness. Born December 2, 1934, he leaves his wife of 37 years, Teresita, his sons: Rolando and Rusty. Ricardo was pre-deceased by his first wife Felicitas and survived by his 8 children: Ricardo Jr., Imelda, Arturo, Evelyn, Maribel, Ruben, Fely and Lisa. He was also survived by his 30 grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ricardo will surely be missed by his sisters: Aurora, Florenda, Theresita and Linda, all of his nieces and nephews as well as many close friends. Also known as “Carding”, he was born and raised in the Philippines the son of Pedro Domingo and Magdalena Inocencio as the 4th of 7 children. He was a life -long resident of San Francisco since he migrated to the United States in 1980. In his early years, Mr. Domingo would drive jeepneys and trucks in the Philippines, but his passionwas working on cars. After working at Kevex Corporation for a few years as an assembler, he decided to be self-employed as an auto mechanic. Ricardo worked as an auto mechanic until his retirement, bringing his love of cars home with him to his own garage. He not only took pride in his business, but truly made friends during his time and made a reputation as “The Mechanic”. He was well known for not over-charging his customers and saying “yes” to all his long- time customers up until his retirement. A few of his sons and grandsons learned how to troubleshoot cars through him. He loved to watch old cowboy movies especially “Bonanza” and “Gun Smoke”, no matter how many time he’d seen the movie. James Dean was among his favorite actors and his favorite songs included To All the Girls I Loved Before, Last Waltz, and Answer Me. Ricardo’s favorite past time was going to Cache Creek 2 to 3 times a week. He was truly a loyal customer of this casino as he would take the bus to get there if no one is available to drive him over. He made more friends along the way who became his “casino buddies”. He also loved playing Mahjong with his sisters whenever they get together. Ricardo is one of the most generous individuals you will ever meet in your lifetime. He loved to share whatever he had even if it’s his last dollar or food to eat. When going to the casino with his children, he’d share his money with them no matter how much he has with him. A viewing will be held on Wednesday (5 pm to 9 pm) and Thursday (9 am to 9 pm) at Valente Marini and Perata Funeral Home in San Francisco. The burial will take place at 1:30 at the Holy Cross cemetery in Colma, California.
