Vivian De Ceoursty

Vivian Regina Lundberg De CeourstyApril 4, 1916 ? October 22, 2009On the dawn of a beautiful, bright blue, sun dappled day in Sutter Creek, CA, Vivian Regina (Lundberg) De Ceoursty passed away. She was 93 years old. Vivian was born to Emil and Regina (O?Donnell) Lundberg in Albion City, Nebraska. She was raised on the Indian School grounds in Nance Co., Nebraska, where her father worked as an electrician. At the age of 12, Vivian and her mother moved to San Diego and later settled in San Jose, California, wherein Vivian graduated from Notre Dame High School, Class of 1934. During WWII, Vivian did service in the local Red Cross.Introduced by family friends, Vivian met and later married Jean De Ceoursty in 1944. They lived in Vallejo, near Jean?s employment at Mare Island, during and after the war. Vivian, Jean, with baby Vivian Aurelia in tow, later moved to San Francisco. The family made their home on Bernal Heights in January 1947, eventually raising two more children, Elaine and David. In addition to raising her family Vivian worked part time as an insurance clerk.Although enjoying the foothills of Amador County, Vivian loved her friends and family in San Francisco. She always spoke of fond remembrances of St. Kevin?s, Cortland Ave.,the Bernal Senior Center, Golden Gate Park, the Japanese Tea Garden, where she would take her children, the museums, theater, and always the cat and flower exhibits. Most of all she missed the sunsets at Ocean Beach. So many things dear to her heart, too numerous to count!Loving wife of the late Jean De Ceoursty. Beloved Mother to Vivian Arroyo, Elaine and Wayne Lackey, and David and Gail De Ceoursty. Preceded in death by her eldest grandson Daniel Arroyo, Christina and Baby. Cherished Grandmother to Nicholas Arroyo, Marc and Nancy Arroyo, Erin and Lucia Lackey, Keith Lackey, Jenna Rose De Ceoursty, and Ensign Kevin De Ceoursty, USN. Dear Great-Grandmother to Baby Ethan Arroyo. Long-time and active member of St. Kevin?s Parish Women?s Guild and Bernal Height?s Neighborhood Center.
